About

On a cliffside at 1638 meters height in the Bernese Oberland Alps, nestles a village of 400 inhabitants, a secret that has been coveted for decades by adventurers from all around the world. Located in front of three of the four highest mountains in Switzerland, inaccessible by car, and only reachable by train or cableway, lays Murren, one of the most photographed villages in the world.

In 1911, British writer J.R.R. Tolkien discovered this postcard landscape, which was to become the main scenic inspiration for his literary masterpiece The Lord of the Rings. From the iconic scenes in the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in the panoramic Piz Gloria restaurant, which offers a 360-degree view on more than 200 Alpine peaks, to the perilous death of Sherlock Holmes in the Reichenbach Falls, the Lauterbrunnen Valley and its surroundings have fascinated travelers and artists for decades.
The transformation of the hotel also extends to the restaurant: a healthy cuisine concocted with fresh and seasonal products is offered to the residents for the traditional Swiss breakfast, lunch and dinner, whose menus have been developed by a hand-picked team that includes a Japanese chef and an experienced oenologist.

Nestled in the heart of an Alpine village at an altitude of 1638 m in the Bernese Oberland, on a cliffside facing the Three Bernese Mountains, lies the Drei Berge, an exceptional hotel.
