Climbing

The area around Hotel Drei berge is full of cliffs and rock faces, an enviable destination for climbing enthusiasts. The Eiger, the region’s iconic mountain, has been the scene of climbing records such as in 2019 when Swiss climber Ueli Steck set a speed record by climbing its north face in just 2 hours, 22 minutes and 50 seconds, beating his own previous record.
Among the mountains popular with climbers, the Schilthorn, Mönch and Jungfrau peaks offer a variety of climbing routes, from vertical to slightly overhanging walls, enabling climbers to choose routes suited to their level of experience.

Dani Arnold, a mountaineer and native of Burglen, near Mürren, holds several climbing records in this region, including the speed record for the ascent of the Matterhorn via the Hornli ridge.
